About the JCL Organization

The National Junior Classical League was formed in 1936 and is sponsored by the Americal Classical League. It is an organization for junior high and high school students enrolled in Classical Courses (e.g. Latin and Greek language classes). It was formed to promote the study of Latin and Greek and to empart an understanding of the debt which our own culture owes to that of Classical antiquity. The Junior Classical League is composed of local and state / provincial chapters across the United States, Canada, and Australia. The Junior Classical League is the largest in the world today with over 50,000 members.
