Overview
Chess Club (SHS)
The senior high chess club has two main goals:
- To teach students the game of chess and improve the skills of those already able to play. Students will be encouraged to elevate the game of other members as well as hold positions of responsibility within the club. The goal is not only to make better problem solvers and innovators, a natural effect of learning the game, but also to help cultivate students that are more adept and confident in all social situations.
- To compete with other schools within the Western PA Interscholastic Chess League, in the event transporatin can be arranged.
