Where do we meet for practice? We are currently waiting for the Athletic Department to finalize the Winter Sports Practice Schedule before we know where we will meet. Check back soon.
What days will we practice? We are currently waiting for the Athletic Department to finalize the Winter Sports Practice Schedule before we know when we will meet. Check back soon. Normally, our club meets two or three days each week after school. Please note our practice schedule is volatile and know that weather and facility availability can force unexpected cancellations. Coaches will be using Microsoft Teams and Remind in order to keep everyone up to speed when there are changes or adjustments to the schedule. Students trying to reach their coaches with questions should always utilize Microsoft Teams or E-mail.
Do I have to compete at the Indoor Track meets? NO. Competing during the Indoor Track season is voluntary, but it can be a lot of fun. Indoor track meets work similar to Invitationals where multiple schools compete at once. Parents/guardians are required to provide transportation to and from the Indoor Track meets.
What time does practice start and end? Practice will start precisely at 3:00 in our assigned meeting place. We have a team meeting before every practice and there are often important updates and information given to club members during this time. Please arrive quickly. Practice will conclude by 5:00 PM for the Activity Bus.
Parent Meeting? We do NOT have a formal 'Parents Meeting' for Indoor Track Club. All information will be communicated through this web-page and e-mail when necessary. We will also establish a Parent Remind Group for those who wish to join.
Is Indoor Track a formal SV Sport? No. Indoor Track Club is exactly that. It is a club. Though we are expected to follow the rules and expectations of the district and department of athletics, we also have the right and obligation to add our own rules/expectations where we see fit.
Who can join? To be a club member in good standing, you must be in 7th through 12th grade.
Do you need to Try-Out? There are NO tryouts for Indoor Track. Any student who would like to participate is welcome. However, in order to be in good standing, ALL paperwork must be submitted to the coaches by the deadline posted above. No Exceptions. Please make sure you make note of this, as everything needed to be in good standing with club is listed on this page!!! Please get everything taken care of ahead of time and DO NOT turn paperwork or club fees into the athletic office. Simply bring all the completed paperwork to our first practice-we will collect all of it there. There are club dues, but no school activity fee for this program.

Attendance Policy? Due to the fact that it is a club, coaches will understand when there are potential conflicts with the schedule. If there are conflicts, we will make it work within reason, but please try to let us know of any conflicts in advance. NOTE: We do take attendance and if a member has a number of unexcused absences, we will expect to know why. Please also note that we have the right to remove any student from our roster if he/she is not meeting our expectations. This includes unexcused absences, disobeying club rules, or violating school district policies.
Effort and Hard Work is Expected: Understand respectfully that ALL athletes are welcome to join Indoor Track, but we are NOT a babysitting service. Anyone who joins us is expected to do their best and work hard. Our staff does not expect every member to be a star, but we expect them to put forth their best effort in practice and work to improve daily.
Is practice always inside? No. We often go outside during the season and, with that in mind, there is an expectation that club members will come prepared for practice every day. This means hats, gloves and other associated warm weather gear should be invested in. All members should have all the proper gear in order to participate.
*Our coaches are doing this on a strictly volunteer basis. Note we do not get paid for our time and in most cases, we work jobs outside of the district. This means sacrificing work and family time to make sure we can be there to use our coaching skills to help develop SVTC members. Remember these days it's hard to find paid coaches for sports, let alone highly qualified ones willing to volunteer. We are very fortunate to have the staff we have in place.
Competition/Meet Information:
INDOOR TRACK MEET SCHEDULE WILL BE POSTED SOON!
All travel to and from the Indoor Track Meets is independent. There are no team busses, so plan accordingly! Never hesitate to consider pooling with other families if possible. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES CAN A CLUB ATHLETE DRIVE TO A MEET THEMSELVES!!! Please remember this. All athletes must travel with a parent or guardian both to and from the meets. Any violation of this rule will result in immediate removal from the club!
*There will be no formal travel release form at the meets. As long as all events (and relays) have been completed, you are free to go!
*EXPECT EVEN MORE LIMITATIONS. Due to the sheer number of teams, entries for TSTCA meets are very limited. We are generally only allowed to enter two athletes per event and one relay team. Athletes are also limited to a maximum of three events instead of the traditional four in the outdoor season. Over the years, we have been able to make it work, but we can't guarantee entry for all athletes. That is why we have added the option to attend Slippery Rock University "All Comer" Meets to the schedule again this season. SRU allows as many team entries as needed and no limit on events.
*Selection for lineups for individual events and relays are 100% the decision of the club coaches.
*Understand if an athlete commits to a meet, they are expected to follow through. We cannot make changes to our lineups once the deadline has passed, so make sure you know you are good to go before committing.
*The TSTCA and State Championship dates will be posted and, unless weather causes an issue, the dates are locked in. If you have a child who thinks they want to qualify for either of these meets, make sure you note the dates so there are no conflicts with the schedule. If you have a trip planned or there is any other foreseeable issue, it's better to be aware of it now so you can adjust plans or plan on not being available to participate.
